AFTER SCHOOL

Youth Development Program: COST PER STUDENT: $1,300

STEM Education: Science, technology, engineering and math after school programming is delivered by certified teachers hired from within each of the school sites as well as partnering organizations such as the Maritime Aquarium and volunteer professionals in STEM related industries utilizing the schools’ resources and result in age/grade appropriate activities.  COST PER STUDENT: $460

Robotics & Project Based Learning: Carver FIRST LEGO League (robotics) and CT Pre-Engineering Program (CPEP) student teams are organized and mentored by professionals to participate in state competitions. COST PER TEAM: $6,500

Annual Spring College Tour: Each April, chaperoned Carver students leave Norwalk to spend their spring break visiting schools they aspire to attend. Our one-day tour of Connecticut colleges takes place each fall on Election Day. COST PER STUDENT: $1,100

SUMMER LEARNING

The Summer Enrichment Program at the Carver Community Center and at Columbus Magnet School serves Norwalk students ages 5 through 13 years old. Two among many learning experiences are the software supported GoMath and Lexia Reading Core 5 programs facilitated by certified teachers.  COST PER STUDENT: $1,000

The Freshman Summer Success Academy at Brien McMahon and Norwalk High Schools prepares students transitioning into these schools into the ninth grade. COST PER STUDENT: $1,100

SCHOLARSHIPS

At the conclusion of each school year we hold a Testimonial Dinner at the Carver Community when we award Carver students, including current college students, with scholarships and recognition. Awards are based on a rigorous application process.

Our goal for 2017 is to raise $100,000, with the support of renewed involvement and giving by our alumni.
