Novelette Peterkin began her professional career as a registered private wealth manager in New York. Prior to joining Carver in 2004, Novelette served as a coordinator with St. Christopher's-Jennie Clarkson Child Care Services and then as assistant director of residential services for the Andrus Children’s Center in New York. Through highly collaborative partnerships and a vision to help end the Achievement Gap in Norwalk, Novelette transformed Carver from a single community center to Norwalk’s largest provider of after school programs for middle and high school students, and Norwalk’s largest provider of summer programs serving K through 9th grade students. Novelette is regarded as a thoughtful and accessible community leader, serving on various committees, as a panelist for the Norwalk Chamber of Commerce Leadership Institute, and as a contributing writer for local media. Novelette holds a BS in accounting from Mercy College and an MBA from the University of New Haven. Novelette is a Recipient of the Women of Distinction Award (Darien YWCA), and is a Member of the National Black MBA Association.
