Basketball

Carver’s boy’s basketball league and travel team enable youth to strengthen their athletic skills and self-confidence. They even sometimes play on NBA courts! Basketball is part of Carver’s legacy in the community; students who excelled on Carver’s court have played competitively on professional teams in high school, college, and beyond.

The Norwalk Carver Center Girls Basketball Association! All games and practices will be played at the Carver Community Center on Academy Street in Norwalk. Carver and Shannon have a long history of success with Norwalk High School’s girls’ Bears team!

Carver COed Youth Basketball League

Our coed basketball league is held at the Carver Community Center on evenings and weekends. The league is open to 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students and provides the opportunity to learn the rules of the game, practice and develop their skillset, and play basketball in a safe and positive environment

Norwalk Youth Carver Travel Team

Carver partners with the Norwalk Youth Basketball Association to offer a Boys Travel Team. The team plays in the Fairfield County Basketball League. Practice and home games are held at the Carver Community Center.

Marcus Hooks is the founder of Six Love and the youngest ever member of the USTA New England Board.

Tennis

The Carver and Six Love offer Spring Tennis programs to 4th, 5th, and 6th graders at the Carver Community Center. Marcus Hooks, Co-Founder and President of Six Love, Carver alumnus, and youngest member of the USTA New England Board, coaches the program.

Soccer

The Carver hosts a Soccer Camp at The Carver Community Center and Veteran’s Park (42 Seaview Avenue, Norwalk). This camp is open to youth groups K - 2 and 3 - 5 and is coached by JC Athletics’ Jose Carvajal. The soccer clinic teaches your child the fundamentals of the sport and develops their skills under the coaching of a former Norwalk High School soccer player. Click here to read more about the soccer clinic. To register your child for Soccer Camp, contact Shannon Bates at shannon@the-carver.org.

Lacrosse

Thanks to Carver’s partnership with Norwalk Junior Lacrosse, including our friends Nick Phillips (President of Norwalk Lacrosse Association), Spencer Hempleman, Erin Berry, and many more friends, we can introduce our summer campers in grades 3-6 to this great sport. This volunteer group of coaches is motivated to bring lacrosse to all communities. Norwalk Lacrosse Association has taught the kids of Norwalk the sport of lacrosse since 1970.  NLA is part of the Connecticut New York Youth Lacrosse Association (CONNY).
